It was not a dark and stormy night, nor once upon a time when Arthur and Victoria visited Gyppeswyk mansion. In fact, it was just an ordinary day when these two curious kids went with their class to visit the Art Gallery.

Their teacher, Ms. Chattermuch, told them that the mansion had been named Gyppeswyk, after Ipswich, in England, where its first owner was from.

Different families have lived in the mansion and now it’s the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria.

“Please bring your attention to the exceptionally detailed tile work in this splendid Victorian fireplace....” droned Ms.Chattermuch, but Arthur seemed more interested in a mysterious painting he had noticed . . .
